| Kurze Inhaltszusammenfassung auf Deutsch | In den zwei Workshops zum Thema "Raum – Perspektive – Medium", die im Mai 2008 und im Februar 2009 am Kunsthistorischen Institut Tübingen stattfanden, kristallisierten sich zwei zentrale Thesen heraus, die im folgenden Band aus interdisziplinärer Perspektive beleuchtet werden sollen: erstens die Frage nach dem Anteil des Betrachters am Bildprozess und zweitens eine damit einhergehende Bewertung des Medienbegriffs. Die Einleitung des Bandes hinterfragt diese beiden Fokusse exemplarisch anhand Erwin Panofskys Film-Aufsatz "Style and Medium in the Motion Pictures". Zugleich illustriert dieser Text die wechselvolle Geschichte des Faches Kunstgeschichte im Umgang mit Betrachter- und Medienfragen. |
| Kurze Inhaltszusammenfassung auf Englisch | Two workshops, taking place in May 2008 and February 2009, respectively, at the Kunsthistorisches Institut Tübingen, dealt with notions of 'Raum – Perspektive – Medium'. Both workshops brought into focus two central questions: Firstly, what role does the observer play in generating images and how should, secondly, the notion of the medium be assessed? The introduction to this multidisciplinary volume discusses both of these queries in the light of Erwin Panofsky’s essay 'Style and Medium in the Motion Pictures'. It stresses Panofsky’s view of the filmic spectator and of the medium. His classic article furthermore highlights the ever-changing stance of the discipline of art history towards mediality in general. |
