Die Simulation sozialer Ordnung : gemeindenahe Kriminalitätsbekämpfung

Abstract

Der folgende Artikel analysiert die Verwendung des Begriffs der Nachbarschaft oder "Community" in aktuellen Debatten über Verbrechensbekämpfung. Die Annahme dabei ist, daß ein adäquates Verständnis dieser Debatten eine genaue Analyse des verwendeten Jargons erfordert. Die Verwendung von Begriffen wie Gemeinde oder Nachbarschaft in diesen Debatten läßt sich am besten verstehen, wenn man sie als Element eines nicht-referentiellen Diskurses interpretiert, in dem soziale Ordnung simuliert und durch rhetorische Beschwörung erzeugt wird, da die objektive Basis nachbarschaftlicher Sozialstrukturen nicht mehr existiert.

The article investigates the use of the concept of the community in present day discussions about crime control. It suggests that a proper understanding of these discussions requires a precise analysis of the language used to talk about community in the public discourse. The assumption is that the concept of community is best understood in the context of a non-referential discourse, as an element in a narrative which produces social order through simulation, because the objective basis for the development of community-based social structures has vanished.
