Die Logotherapie Viktor E Frankls : eine systematische und kritische Darstellung mit einer Skizze zu einem alternativen Religionsverständnis

Abstract

Die Logotherapie und Existenzanalyse Viktor E. Frankls (so die volle Bezeichnung) ist im Wesentlichen ein medizinisch-psychotherapeutisches System, allerdings mit einem ausgeprägten philosophisch-theologischen Menschen- und Weltbild. Die Sinnfrage des Lebens ist das zentrale Thema.

Diese Studie will das Ganze des Frankl'schen Systems erfassen und gliedert sich somit in:

(I.) einen historischen Teil (die Entstehung und Entwicklung der Logotherapie),

(II.) einen philosophischen Teil (Menschen- und Weltbild),

(III.) den ausführlichen klinischen Teil (Theorie und ansatzweise die Praxis) und

(IV.) den theologischen Teil.

In letzterem wird zunächst versucht, das Religionsverständnis Frankls zu erfassen. Es erweist sich aufgrund der starken Über-Ich-(psychologisch gesehen) und Über-Sinn-Prägung (theologisch gesehen) als wenig brauchbar für praktisch-therapeutische Zwecke. Aus diesem Grund wurde (da die Studie auf theologischem Grund und Boden gewachsen ist) versucht, ein anderes Gottes_ und Religionsverständnis zu konzipieren, das im Prinzip allgemein anwendbar sein soll. Es wurde ein "kosmisches Gottesverständnis" und ein "individualisiertes Religionsverständnis" gewählt. Die Gesamtstudie will eine intern-kritische sein (sie misst sich an system-internen Widersprüchen), weshalb neben dem nicht haltbaren Religionsverständnis die für psychotherapeutische Zwecke fehlende tiefendynamische Dimension angemahnt wird. Die positive Seite (Sinnfindungsprinzipien, Freiheit der persönlichen Einstellung zu Lebensschicksalen, z.B.) wird honoriert. Viktor E. Frankls logotherapy is essentially a psychotherapeutic system including a distinct philosophical anthropology and Weltanschauung. "Meaning of life" is the key concept.

This treatise intends to deal with the entire Frankl system, it discusses therefore the following parts:

(I.) its history, i.e the genesis of logotherapy and its development,

(II.) its philosophy,

(III.) the clinical part: theory and inceptively its practical approach, and

(IV.) the theological aspects.

The latter part tries to work out Frankls religious concept. Because of it being dominated by the superego notion (psychologically) and the metaphysical notion of supra meaning (theologically) it is of doubtful use for the practical purpose of psychotherapy. Hence the attempt is being made in this study to replace it by a different religious concept. Since this has to be in principle universally relevant - also in the mind of Frankl - I chose a cosmological God concept and a highly individualized religion concept (God-man-relationship). The general intent of this treatise being internally critical (regarding systemic contradictions), it also calls for an integration of the missing psychodynamic dimension within the clinical parts of logotherapy. The positive aspects of the system are being honored, especially in regard to its offering vistas for meaning in life and calling attention to existential freedom of attitudes and personal choices. The strengsths and weaknesses of the person of Frankl are being correlated with the strengths and weaknesses of the system of logotherapy. ----------------- An improved edition has been published in 2005: ISBN 3-211-21192-6.
