Abstract

This book is an introduction into the methods, applications, and the history of criticism. Directed in a historical perspectives, it gives access to the conditions of criticism that depend upon historical situations and cultural conditions. This book introduces into the main areas of applied criticism showing their historical development and the main applications in several cultures in Europe from a diachronic approach, and Asia, Africa, America, and Australia from a synchronic approach. Therefore it faces the specific terminology related to criticism in diverse cultures.
