Abstract:
The craniomandibular dysfunction (CMD) shows a complex disease pattern with varied symptoms. Numerous patients attend their dentists with problems of various kinds from the symptomatic complex of CMD. Very often patients not only tell about pains, but also about tensions of their masticatory and neck muscles, about restrictions of their mouth openings as well as crackling jaws or friction rubs. The objective of this cross-sectional study is the improvement of the evidence of diagnostics and therapy by the analysis of prevalence and influential factors of CMD.
