Inhaltszusammenfassung:

Die vorliegende Dissertation untersucht die Semantik von Rahmensetzungskonstruktionen. Der theoretische Kernbeitrag der Arbeit besteht in der formalsemantischen Analyse dieser Rahmensetzungskonstruktionen: Sie führen eine Präsupposition über mögliche Auswertungssituationen ein, welche freie Variablen indirekt, aber dennoch auf systematische und kompositionale Weise in ihren Wertzuweisungen beschränkt. Der empirische Haupteitrag der Dissertation besteht in der sprachvergleichenden Betrachtung dieser Konstruktionen.

Abstract:

This dissertation develops a semantic analysis for frame-setting constructions, which operate at the interface between context and composition: Frame setters introduce a presupposition regarding the evaluation situation and thereby may restrict the interpretation of free variables.
